What' So Funny About Jazz??!!!!

What' So Funny About Jazz??!!!!

Melody Breyer-Grell may not have a right to sing the Blues, but she certainly knows how to whine about them!

In a business, where an emerging vocalist feels fortunate if she has just broken even, "What's so Funny About Jazz??!!!” relentlessly parodies all aspects of the "business" in this hilarious, ego deflating satire. (At NYC’s Triad Theatre April 8th & 22nd @ 9:15PM, April 18th @ 5:00PM.)

Ms. Breyer-Grell knows of what she whines. Impulsively choosing to pursue a career as a vocalist upon her first exposure to Ella Fitzgerald's Song Books, she has spent the last few years attempting to scratch out a place in the highly competitive world of "JAZZ/STANDARD's VOCALISTS."

"I was definitely on too much caffeine when I decided to throw my hat into the ring of this field."

Melody's Debut CD "The Right Time" had a favorable response from the critics, and also won the highly coveted Best of 2004, In NYC Jazz Bible "All About Jazz"

So what has prompted her to take the satirical road?

"I was in the world of Classical Music when I was young...the most competitive conservatories and such. I naively figured the jazz world would be loose, swinging and very and free."

Little did she know what she was getting into.......

Come see "What's so Funny About Jazz??!!!" and find out.
